Totem Seal Symbolism

In the folklore of old, the Sulkies were beautiful fairy-like creatures who took the form of seals and sea lions while in the ocean, yet appeared human when on land. Seals and sea lions still hold a fascination for us today with their glorious fluid motion in the water and amusing on-land antics. Linked to the water, but dependent on the land for mating and birth, the seal is a symbol of duality and bringing forth the creative energies of water.
