Mixed Media Spring card using Totem Snail

Happy First day of Spring! Today officially marks the beginning of the Spring season in the Northern Hemisphere. Spring is my favorite season, because sun starts to shine more and life slowly starts to bloom! Therefore, today I will be sharing how to make a bright and cheerful mixed media spring card featuring totem snail.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

  • Acrylic paint (I used light blue, pink, gray, yellow colors)
  • Blank card (5 inches by 7 inches)
  • Ink (Black, pink, green)
  • Background stamp, flower stamp, grass stamp.
  • Alphabet Stamps
  • Modeling paste
  • Stencil
  • Totem Snail + Mini Brads
  • Foam tape
  • Paint brushes/pallet knife

STEP 1:

Prepare the background for the card by using blue acrylic paint. Let it dry.

STEP 2:

To add some further interest, I stamped the background.

STEP 3:

Prepare the Totem Snail by painting it with the colors of your choice. Let it dry.

STEP 4:

Assemble the Totem Snail. I also ended up stamping it for more interest.

STEP 5:

Mix some modeling paste with yellow paint. This will be used with a stencil, for a sun effect.

STEP 6:

Make sure the modeling paste is dry. I usually give it 10 minutes. Assemble the card. I used a stamp and green ink to create grass. Another stamp was used to create flowers. Then I attached some foam mounting tape to the back of the totem snail and secured it to the card . I used alphabet stamps so create a sentiment, which reads ' Happy Spring'. That completes my spring card. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoyed this project.
